Born Galesburg, Illinois, January 3, 1944; admitted to bar, 1969, Arkansas, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Arkansas and U.S. Court of Appeals, Eighth Circuit; 1974, U.S. Supreme Court;

Education: Hendrix College; University of Arkansas (B.A., 1965; J.D., 1969).

Recipient: Arkansas Bar Association Golden Gavel Award, 1997, Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association Outstanding Trial Lawyers Award, 1997, selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America, 1999-2000, 2001-2002, and the Martindale Hubbell Bar Register of Pre-Eminent Lawyers 1999-2001.
